About the Data
The Novice Teen Driver Education and Training Administrative Standards (NTDETAS)
were developed by the Association of National Stakeholders in Traffic Safety
Education (ANSTSE), comprised of representatives from the driver education
professional community, with assistance from NHTSA. Interested States may use the
State Self-Assessment page on this
website as a tool to help determine their State’s current alignment with the
Standards. The questions contained in the Self-Assessment address each specific
element of the Standards. State responses may help identify areas to research or
examine in more detail. This website’s Self-Assessment can be used to help gauge
and plan State Driver Education program goals.
Currently, the data contained in the System on this website regarding each
State’s alignment with the NTDETAS was gathered from one or more sources,
identified below. Please note that the System captures the date this information
was entered into the System, which may be different from the date the information
was originally gathered.
