Abstract
This factsheet contains limited information and statistics about graduated driver licensing programs in the US. Data from the FARS database were analyzed. Key findings included:
-Motor vehicle crashes were the leading cause of death for people aged 15 to 20 years.
-States with nighttime driving restrictions showed crash reductions of up to 60 percent during restricted hours.
-GDL programs have been shown to reduce crashes caused by young drivers.
