Abstract
This presentation covers ANSTSE’s Core Elements of a Parent/Guardian Seminar, which provides recommendations for the administration, content, and delivery of Seminars for the parents/guardians of novice teen drivers (under the age of 18). These core elements will prepare parents/guardians for their critical role during their teen’s learning-to-drive process, ease States’ path toward the implementation of such Seminars, advocate to all stakeholders the benefits of Seminars, and provide a foundation for the prevention of novice driver motor vehicle crashes. The presentation also provides information on the future of driver education, the importance of parent/guardian involvement, how to make seminars more accessible and resources for parents/guardians.
